Puppy Protection

Puppy Protection is a class is designed for the 6 month- 18 month old beginning dog. We use this class to focus your dogs natural abilities to do protection work. In this class we work with young dogs that have the proper drive for the work. Initially the trainers and the decoys evaluate the animal for a possibility to advance in training for Personnel or Property Protection. In this class we do not work on a Decoy. We only work the puppy on rags and tugs. Depending on the abilities of the animals we incorporate minor sleeve work. All of this training is done "IN DRIVE". It is all prey based and fun for the dog. There are no stick hits or defense and fight drive present in these classes. Each class is based off of a program designed to suite each and every individual dog and Handlers specific needs. The structure of this class could vary from week to week. Please Contact Heath to set up an appointment and an evaluation. All classes are 10 weeks.

Beginner Handler Protection 1 (BHP1)

BHP 1 is designed for individuals the want to walk down the streets at night with their animal and feel "SAFE". This class will give you and your dog the ability to understand the different types of aggression and how we build each level. We cover how to read your dogs body language and expressions. We also show you how you directly reflect the outcome of your dog's abilities. Your dog will be able to defend you and themselves from an attacker as well as bark and alert upon command while on leash. We utilize sleeves and minor bite suit work in these classes. There is minor fight and defense in these classes, but no weapons or stick hits will be used. Please contact Heath for an evaluation prior to class.

Intermediate Handler Protection (IHP)

IHP is a class designed around off leash and multi person activities. In IHP we incorporate a bite suit to challenge your dog not to focus on just "Biting an Arm". The dogs will learn to assist the handler not take care of the problem. The dogs will fight right along side of their owners attempting to escape the grasp of the Bad Guy. In this class we will incorporate stick hits and on field distractions to simulate a more 'real Life Environment". Here we also introduce your dog to some minor muzzle fighting. This will strengthen his desire to fight off the bad guy and teaches them how to utilize their body, head, and legs to assist in the attack.

Intermediate Handler Protection 2 (IHP2)

IHP 2 is a class specifically designed around street assaults and surprise attack situations. This class is for graduates of IHP. We incorporate the bite suit exclusively for "Real Life" situations and spend a large amount of time on controlled aggression and muzzle fighting. Most of this class is off leash and under strict supervision from the staff. In this class is where you would be invited to compete.

Personal Protection Dog (PPD)

PPD is the course that will cover life like scenarios that cover Home intrusion, handler and family protection, article protection, and vehicle agitation and protection. Additionally, you will have opportunities to attend Protection Dog Trials with the club and compete.
